When I develop my webapplications I use free tools. My dev environment is Visual Web Developer 2005 EE and MySQL v5.0

If You start developing Open Source applications in ASP.NET then You should develop with these tools, so everyone can contribute to the application. Not everyone has the money to but Visual Studio, and free tools is always good and tastes nice
